The city of Aliso Viejo is located in South Orange County on the east slopes of San Joaquin Hills, West of the five freeway. Alisa Viejo is home to over 40,000 residents mostly comprise of a younger demographic which makes up a thriving community. It is bordered on the southeast by the city of Laguna Niguel. To the west of town is Laguna Beach, while Laguna Hills would be directly east. Aliso Viejo boasts more than 100 neighborhoods or housing tracts. the 1990s was a time of incredible growth for Aliso Viejo real estate. Aliso Viejo real estate consisted of a mere 7600 residents in 1990. But during this era developers began to build extremely fast to meet up with increased demand for Aliso Viejo real estate. Lotteries were held for prospective homeowners that wished to own Aliso Viejo homes. By 2000, Aliso Viejo reached 32,000 residents. Thus becoming orange county’s 34th city on July 1, 2001.
This area is known for very mild climate which stays fairly cool even in the summer months. It is just a few miles from the beach. Nearby airports include John Wayne ( Orange County) which is only 20 minutes driving distance and LAX is just one hour away.
Residents have all the splendor of adjacent nature reserves, including the Aliso and Wood Canyons Regional Park, which sits at the southern end of the Laguna Greenbelt. There are canyons, ancient petroglyphs, and an abundance of hiking and biking trails.
